Default Rod-Man Report November 8, 2006

Rod-Man Report November 8, 2006:

Hi Folks,
Inshore fishing is on fire right now. Reds, trout and flounder are biting. This is my favorite time of the year. You can enjoy fishing because it is not too hot and the fishing seems to always be a bit better.

Now here's my report:

Inshore: Go for the slam! Reds, trout, flounder: all are biting. live bait, dead bait, and don't forget GULP SW. We even have caught reds on gulp with fly rods! Inlets, creeks, and ICW; all are producing fish.

Near shore: Gray trout, lots of blues and albacore are patrolling the near shore waters. They can be found near the inlet mouths, the artificial reefs, and wear the birds are diving. Catch them on GULP, jigs and spoons. I use Berkley's Fireline with about 3' of flourocarbon leader on an Okuma V 40 reel; and of course a ML Rod-Man Custom Rod.

Offshore: Kings are biting from the 10 mile areas out to 40 miles. Good bottom fishing can be found from 25 miles to 35 miles.

Gulfstream: Wahoo are still biting. Reports of some yellowfin and blackfin tuna are coming in as well.

With fall fishing in full swing, it is hard to think about winter, but the fishing school season and boat show season will soon be upon us. Throughout the year I receive hundreds of emails and phone calls asking good fishing questions about techniques and location. You can find all that information at my Annual Rod-Man Fishing School. Food, Fishing Knowledge, loads of Door Prizes...details at Rod. Seating IS limited so please sign up early.
Also, I'll be at the Greensboro Bass and Saltwater Fishing Expo at the Greensboro Coliseum January 5-7, 2007; and the Raleigh Bass and Saltwater Expo at the Fairgrounds January 12-14, 2007. I am looking forward to seeing many old friends and meeting many new friends.
