Default Rod-Man Report September 14, 2006

Rod-Man Report August 14, 2006:

Hi everyone,
Fishing is a bit off right now. Ernesto dumped some big rain on us and the winds from various fronts have kept the ocean stirred up. The good news is those winds have kept the hurricanes AWAY. We are still catching some fish, just having to work a bit harder for them; and we are looking for a big fall season just around the corner.

Now here's my report:

Inshore: The flounder bite has been erratic. One day good, one day bad, good here but not good there. Reds have been much better, biting on the falling tide and on the incoming as well. We are looking for some trout to show up soon. Best natural bait is finger mullet and artificial would be Berkley Gulp SW.

Near shore: Before the storm we had some gray trout showing up as well as flounder on the near shore reefs. The water has been too rough for a while to get out and see what is doing now. I will keep you posted as conditions improve.

Offshore: No recent reports.

Gulfstream: No recent reports.

Cheer up, fishing will be great when things settle a bit, and the inshore action is getting better each day.

I am proud to announce my 2007 Rod-Man Fishing School schedule. I will be having TWO schools this coming year: Raleigh on February 10, 2007, and Wilmington on March 3, 2007. Both schools will be all inclusive teaching everything from catching a flounder to bringing in a mahi. You can get all the details at http://www.rodmancharters.com/2007%2...l%20school.htm
Each year I limit seating so that everyone can feel a part of my school. This year is no exception. Seating is limited and it is never too early to register. This year for your convenience you may print out a registration form on the school web page mentioned above and mail it to me or as always feel free to give me a call. I hope to see many of you there. Good food, great door prizes and the latest in fishing techniques from the pros...a super combination.

Don't miss this week's pic of the week at http://www.rodmancharters.com/report.htm

Let's Go Fishing!!!
