Default Stripers @ Williamston 4/12

First of all this was the first time that I have fished the Roanoke. We fished at Williamston from 8 - 4 on Saturday. When we got to the boat launch we went to the Roanoke Sportsman first and they indicated that the fish weren't really in the river yet. The water was still too cold, but we fished anyways. They were right we didn't catch any.

We fished cut herring, minnows, bucktail jigs, flukes, swim baits, plugs both anchored and drifting... nothing. We saw lots of other boats in the river and didn't see anyone else catching any.

I'm sure some of the reason we didn't catch any is our inexperience on the river but also the fact that the fish weren't there yet. I plan on going back in a couple of weeks.

Charles
