Time for spring mullets yet?

Around April last year I caught several mullets on bogue inlet pier. I have bought a 19ft. skiff and need some info on how and where to go around bogue inlet or the waterway. Any help would be appreciated. I caught most of them last year using bottom rigs and fishbites.
