Default too much stick?

I recently came across a good deal on a 13 ft penn power stick. I thought about pairing it with a penn slammer and 20 lb test. The question is for you saltwater guys , is this too much for the outer banks, last few times i've surffished, the surf was kind of rough and the 10 foot combo I have felt a little weak with the 4-5 oz sinkers i had to use to keep the bait out. This powerstick I seriously believe could subdue a charging rhino, and might be a danger to low- flying aircraft. anyone care to give their opinions.
