Took my daughter and future son-in-law on their first Spanish trip yesterday! What a blast! After explaining to my daughter a thousand times how to tell when the planer trips she finally got it! To see her pull in her first Spanish was a pure joy. She was so excited she dang near pulled the leader, planer and fish all on board before I had a chance to grab the line! And it was a respectable Spanish. It was 16 inches, and of course the biggest one caught all day! We are still hearing about that. I told her they would not fight but this one took a beeline to the other side of the boat! Her eyes got as big as half dollars. Can't wait to take her King fishing. Her counterpart could not take his eyes off the lines. Training him as a 1st mate. I told him I had put my hours in as a 1st mate and now it was his turn. !!(You know wash the boat, load the boat, unload the boat, get the Cap. Sodas! Don't anyone tell him different please ! lol

) Fished last Sunday off St. Regis up and down to the old pier, and the Spanish were in 22 - 23 feet of water. Yesterday they were in the surf and in about 9 feet.
Good fishing to all and don't forget to take your kid fishing.
