Default Where do they go?

I used to know an old fellow who lived near Ocean, NC who told tales of cooking fish by salting them and setting them out in the yard so the sun would "strike" and cook the fish. He said he gigged flounder by lighter knot and would never think of eating a shrimp, which he referred to as "bugs". He also fished for, and caught, specs year round. He's gone now and never shared his secret as to where he caught them, but over the years I've heard of one or two other guys who supposedly fished for and caught trout year round. This makes me think they may spend spring and summer in salt marshes. I know flounder ease out into the ocean and lay on ledges, but I don't think this is the case with trout. Any one know where they spend the "off" season?
