Default Any fishing reports?

Did anyone hit the salt along the NC coast this weekend or is it still in the "dead time" of the year? Have the virginia mullet started showing up in the surf yet? I'm getting extremely anxious for the 8 day vacation in N.C. the week after Memorial Day. I can taste the flounder and spanish mackeral.

I bought a used kayak last weekend and took it out today. That was my first time fishing from a kayak, so it took some getting used to. Ended up landing a few spotted bay bass and lost a nice halibut...all on 4" swimbaits with 1/4 oz. lead heads. I'll try and post a few pics next time.
