Talking New River Inlet

I had the same problem up at Radio Island on Thanksgiving Day that most people are complaining about in Morehead City, No bite or slow fishing. However me and a couple of my yak buddies put our kayaks in at Mile Hammock on Saturday in the middle of rain and cold. We worked our way out the channel toward New River inlet. No luck along the way and no signs of anything but Menhaden. We stopped at the dolphins (pilings) behind the inlet and Onslow beach and it was on. We caught specks one after another for 3 hours most of them small but we had a few in excess of 20”. Caught our limit and released at least 20 a piece for three people. A good day! All on Gulps.
