Default Southport area fishing

Launched the yak the past two mornings on low tide in Bald Head Creek. Dragged Gulp shrimp on the bottom for several hrs. picking up a few short flounder and one that approached 17 inches. Noticed shrimp and minnows dancing on top of the water near several feeder creeks so I started casting Gulp among them. Paid off with several nice reds in the 24 inch range. Seem to hit white and root beer colored gulp with no particular preference. After the tide began spilling into the feeder creeks the action stopped. Yet to see any trout but catching those reds sure is fun.
