Default Yak Fishing in Dawson Creek/Oriental

As a newbie to salt water fishing and the proud owner of a kayak rigged for fishing, I am enjoying the "creeks" around Oriental, especially Dawson Creek. These waters are simply beautiful and look like they should hold untold numbers of fine fish.

What experiences have y'all had fishing places like Dawson Creek and others in the area? I'm interested in learning what is biting and when ... what to catch it on ... etc.

I know that on my next trip (late November), I'll be taking a crab trap. I was really amazed at the number of crab in the area. More than half my casts intended for reds was consumed by crabs. I guess it is only fair that I turned the table and consumed them!
