Default Kayak River Trolling?

I recently hooked up with a WS Tarpon 160i angler and have taken it out on the Catawba here near Charlotte. I'd like to get out on Mountain Island and Norman as well. I'm thinking trolling for stripers this time of year.

Does anyone have good ideas for a river trolling setup? So far, I'm thinking of the modified bottom finder rig seen here:

BasicUsefulRigs

...possibly rigging it for double spoons.

Any other ideas?
