Default Looney Minister- Fishing???

Our Pastor made his initial visit to the Down East more precisely, Atlantic, this past fall. He is one of the folks that has fell in love with our remote area where there is very little traffic. beautiful sunrises over the outer banks and usually good fishing.

This being the case, I invited him to spend a couple days of his winter vacation here fishing. I also figured he had better connections above than I have to maybe locate and catch some specks from some of my bridge fishing locations. We were fishing a little further north of where there are present reports of trout catches.

Well, we fished every bridge between Davis and Cedar Island without a strike. Finally, I remembered another good board member just recently showing off a pic of a "ramp" flounder so we went to the boat ramp up at Cedar Island to give it a try. After about twenty minutes of nothing, the Reverend put a Devinne move on a Fin-S Atomic Chicken lure and got a tremendous strike. His Drag was screaming and he was screaming for the net. About the time I reached for the net his catch came up out of the water and began to fly north toward Ocracoke with the drag on the reel going wide open. A loon had swallowed his lure underwater and was flying off with it.

From a layman's standpoint, I'm still a little confused here, it appeared at first the preacher had tangled with a Jonah's whale, but just before the line broke he appeared to be flying a kite.

So goes "fishin"? DownEast.

Later, Forrest
