I set out this morning counting on some exercise and hoping I might run into a fish or two to erase the Jordan skunking I took home on Monday. Paddled out of Upper Barton - very quiet in the creek area, but there was some scattered life out at the mouth.
First fish was the best of the day - new personal record white bass:

(who needs the Jordan stripers!)
That was followed by several more good whites:
5 LMs in the mix too:
First ever Kayak double:
Shad was definitely on the breakfast menu - these are the weapons that did the work:

Trolled the shad raps, tossed the silver buddy into surface feeding disturbances. Most of the whites came on the larger floating shad rap. White Perch and bass on the smaller rattling/suspending. Several bass and 1 white on the buddy.
Final Tally: 5 White Bass (all good ones), 5 Largemouth (1 keeper-sized, 2 OK, 2 dinks), 2 White Perch, 0 skunks!! Launched at 6:35, back at the ramp by 9:00. All fish came from the mouth area of Upper Barton, mostly around the southern portion (opposite the long point that comes out from the eagle's nest).
