Bond Lake 3/11 - Still on a streak!

I tried the dam area today. My streak's still alive. Even though the stick wasn't a keeper, the dog leash was.

I was throwing Storm plastics today -- I didn't like the 4" minnows with the rattle chambers much -- I had to add a little weight to get a decent cast, so all the lure did was nose dive. The 3" shad did a much better job of swimming, and they're heavier too, so I could cast about half again as far.

I was trying to go for deeper water, so I was kinda working a fan pattern along the dam. Saw a few turtles and several splashes -- I'm guessing those are the same species. I tried casting to the splashes but couldn't seem to get any interest.

I moved to the field opposite the dock, to work the creek channel there, and again fanned out toward the open water after a few casts. That's where I caught the leash.

After the rain ran me off, I took the family over to my folks house and had steak for dinner. A meal fit for my kind of fisherman!
