Catfish on Falls Lake

Hey everybody, as you know, I am new to lake fishing. yesterday, me and my 2 boys went out to catch anything that would bite. Didn't get but a 12 inch bluegill. Decided we would go for some catfish (the onlything we ever fished for in iowa, being as there are no lakes, just lots and lots fo big rivers-like the mississippi)! Wow, there are some catfish in that lake. Using shrimp-my personal favorite, nabbed about 25-30 over 3 lbs. Took home a dozen 5 lb to eat for sunday dinner. Fished in the shallows at dusk! Great time was had by all. Boys did most of the catching, thank goodness, they were starting to get bored with fishing! I spent most of my time helping them get it off the hook. Caught a massive turtle also, he was pretty irritated!!!
