Default Harris Lake, 9-6-07

Hello NC Angler friends,

I arrived at Harris around 3:30pm and took my time launching the Skiff. Around 4pm I took off for the dam, and a quick left turn up the feeder creek. I started with my flyrod and a #10 glo-bug/yellow tail. The 2nd cast produced a hand sized "gill" and the action was on! Cast after cast produced strikes around the grass beds and more fish. Most were 4-finger width, but others were larger. I decided I'd save a few for supper and strung up 6 of the larger ones(hand size) and began throwing back all the others. The wind was light in the East/South East and the heat pretty intense during the time. During the period I also landed 3 LM's, a pound or less on the bug and all were released to grow for another day. Around 7pm, I moved back toward the ramp hoping to see some schoolies, but no dice....the tubbers and ski'ers were too active. I was planning to take a couple pictures of the fish, but dumb me forgot I had the stringer overboard and after my last fishing stop I took off toward the boat ramp losing my supper back to the lake.....oh well another excuse to go back fishing! I'm getting ready for a Pamlico trip soon when the temperatures cool a bit.
