Default Jordan/Weaver Crk - 4/12 (kayaks)

After the big blow blew through this afternoon, Scooteri and I made our way down to Weaver Creek with the kayaks to fish flooded brush.

No problem finding flooded brush to fish - the water is up into the bottom of the parking lot (top half is still fine for parking). Headed back & around the corner trying to get out of the wind, but really not much chance of that.

I mostly pitched a King Shad in & around the brush trying to get that first swimbait fish - nothing to show for it. I switched to a shallow, flat, coffin-bill crankbait in bright white (can't recall which brand and no identifying marks) and scored quickly. Not a big fellow and his heart really wasn't in it - measly little hit, measly little fight. But just enough to fend off the skunk.

Great looking sunset that I think may have spurred romantic notions toward the LL Manta Ray 14 that Scott picked up over the winter - that is one sweet looking boat in the water.
