Talking labor day on lake norman

8-31-07 Me and Hotwire, my jack russell drove west out of statesville across buffalo shoals bridge. Went left one mile to new landing on left. Caught our first wide mouth at 6:30 am . Got 1 top water on an old gay blade i can throw a 100 yards, he was over 2 lbs, the other 5 were smaller . Caught them on a 4 inch red-clawed crayfish, the monkey made we buy. Saw 2 big red foxes. Hotwire got his nose sunburnt. There is not much shade on the back of a kayak. We put them all back for you all. We left at 8:30. 9-2-07 Put in at Lyles creek, it's about 1 foot deep now. Went out to 70 bridge it's 6 foot. Caught 1 top water then a pillar of the community stopped his boat over where they were schooling and ask me if i was catching anything. I said not anymore. He said something else but my ears were swelling shut. He finally left. After 2 hours I did too. Caught 3 bass no size. 1 carp and something that straightened out my hook and took my little crayfish and left, he was above 70 bridge, first cove on the right. Went on up to 40 bridge . 400 yards from there just quit fishing didn't see any. Water was 2 feet under 40. Stayed 14 hours & caught 4 fish, Saw 1 owl and a red-tailed hawk. Hotwire didn't go. He was home licking a sunburn.
