Lake Hickory 10-6-07

Fished Hickory yesterday evening after work. (Don't you hate when work gets in the way of your play time) Anyway, on the water around 6 and had a bucket full of bait from the Rhodhiss dam by 7. The dam wasn't running so we set up a slow drift/troll down the river channel. Caught one small bass on a redfin which was almost as big as him then started fishing live shad on free lines and planer boards. Had a few pull downs but no catches until around 9pm when I boated a 6 pound 24 inch striper. After that, we had a couple more pull downs without a hook up. Left the lake around midnight.
Just a note, If you plan on going to the Rhodhiss dam to catch bait, be very careful between the last bridge and the dam. The water is rocky and very shallow and will destroy a prop if you hit one.
I can't wait until next weekend to try it again.
