Thumbs up Mountain Island Lake

Took the old 10 footer to Mt. Island today at sunup. Saw lots of fish shallow but nobody biting! Didnt get skunked though...trusty/rusty/bent rooster tail (light green) caught 1 small (but fiesty!) bass and 1 white bass. Both in about 4 foot of water.
I saw several nice bass paired up in several coves but nothing short of actually throwing the empty tackle box at them would make em bite. Had a few bites on a spinner bait that I missed. Great weather at least! Might go back with some minnows tomorrow.

I also saw something that looked like a stugeon(sp). I swear it wasnt a pickerel but it was long and brown, too big to be a bass. Any ideas? It wasnt a catfish either.

Good Hunting
