Fishing on the Coast

Hello everyone. I haven't been on here for awhile due to work schedule. My friends and I didn't catch anything during our vacation the week of the 4th. Don't know if we were using the wrong bait or just no fish. I didn't get back to the coast until two weeks ago. We caught a few sea bass and that's all. I did get a bigger boat though so now I am ready to try it again. Any suggestions on bait? I used live bait, live shrimp and some cut bait. Got any ideas?
