new to forum... headboat question.

Hi,
i'm coming to Topsail next week... gonna pier fish, but thought i may do a 1/2 or full day on headboat.

Question... can i take my lighter tackle /jigs on headboat and catch something interesting or i am i stuck with their thick rods?
