| I know you guys don't know me from Adam, as I have only had one or two previous posts here, but I figured I would roll the dice and ask for some assistance So, it looks like I am about to buy a boat. Its an old 16' aluminum fishing boat. It looks like its pretty beat up (I have only seen pictures), but for the price ($50, guy basically just wants it taken off his property), I am willing to take the risk. The only problem is that the boat does not come with a trailer, I don't have one, and I think that the boat is too big to put on the roof of the minivan. I need to pick up the boat in Southport and get it back to Durham. I was wondering if anyone had an idle trailer in the Raleigh/Durham area that I could borrow for the day, either this Sunday or next weekend sometime, so I could pick up this boat and get it back to my house in Durham. I have a class 3 hitch on the minivan with a 2" ball. For the record, I will be getting a trailer for this boat, but I wanted to make sure it was worth the expense first. I am already in the doghouse with the wife for purchasing a boat sight unseen. I am still trying to formulate a strategy for purchase of trailer, motor, etc. Again, anyone that could help, I would appreciate it a lot. -Eric |
