Maximum HP

I've got a 10' aluminum flat-bottomed boat. It is old and there isn't a max capacity / max hp plate on it anymore. I've looked online and it seems that 3 or 4 hp for that size boat is what they normally have. However, what do y'all think is the max hp you can put on that size boat?
