Default 7/14 Mattamuskeet

Finally got down to Mattamuskeet. (Actually it was yesterday 7/12, not tomorrow 7/14) A friend of mine had been trying to get me to go for a couple of years now. We put in on the Fairfield side at the NWR ramp. The water was low and it was tough going on the engine. Switched over to the trolling motor, but still had a tough go of it heading out of the canal into the lake. I started to take my pushpole, but decided not to. I wish I had so that we could have poled across the flat into the big lake. We managed a half dozen cats and one grennel out of the canal. Does anyone know if the ramp on the south side of the lake opens directly into the lake?
