8 inch size limit in effect for crappie west of I-77

Any NC public waters (not private) west of I-77 has a minimum size limit for crappie at 8 inches (EXCEPT Lake Lure which has a 10 inch minimum) and a 20 fish bag lmit.

This goes into effect I believe first of July (whenever the new regulations come out).

So if you want to harvest smaller crappie, you'd better do it this spring.
