Talking Harris Lake Report 6-28

Howdy Ya'll!!!!

Well, the wife and I hit Harris Lake this morning. It took a little longer to get there than I thought, so even with leaving the house at 5:30am we didn't get there til 9am. I started off with a couple of different colored buzzbaits in a cove near the boat ramp. No success. I then went just past where the no wake zone ends close to the boat ramp... over by the floating barrels and rif raf... some kind of danger area. We fished some flukes and jigs on a dropoff area towards the middle and slightly off of a point. No success. Then, I popped out the watermelon colored Berkley Gulp worms on a Texas rig. First cast and almost simultaneously, the wife and both hooked up with some catfish. Mine was 3lbs and hers was a pound and a half. Didn't catch much there after that. We motored on around to a really nice cove where we continued with the Gulp worms. First cast in the cove was around 11am. I had a subtle bite on the first cast and man was it a nice bass. Pocket scale had it at 4.5 lbs. Had some other bites in other places of the lake, but didn't land anything else. We had a good time though. I appreciate the advice everyone gave. Hope this post might help someone else out there. I'm gonna try to post a pic....
