Default MIL Trout

Kind of a weird question

This guy I know swears on his life that people have caught some rainbow trout on mountain Island lake. Didn't know if this is just folklore. However, the other day I was bank fishing and sure enough I see two little fish feeding shallow. I crept to see what the were, and they looked almost exactly like any other trout. I was wondering, could these be baby bass or some other fish. Or maybe, they were stocked here by accident. I wish I had a camera that day. I still don't think they were trout, but they definetly looked like it.
