Need Trolling Tips for Lake Trolling

I have never trolled before. I am fishing Santeetlah Lake with a pontoon boat. Want to try trolling and need hints. Santeetlah is a deep lake and is suppose to have small and large mouth bass, walleye, and bluegill. I need to know what to use from the reel (including line type and size) all the way to the hook and bait. I am a true novice, so assume I know nothing. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
