Smile return to hp city lake

hey guys
decided to give the new river a rest today, plus with gas 4 bucks a pop i thought better of that 2 hour drive and decided to stick close to home.my cousin rick and i got to the lake around 645 and started off with carolina rigged speed craws on stumpy points.we caught 4 right away,i got a nice 4 pounder, then rick decided to change up and caught a 6 and a half pound beauty on a citrus fat free shad.we caught four more before the heat got to us and we left around lunch.but we did have six that would have been two or better,so a fair day after all.going back to thenew in a couple of weeks, can't wait!
good fishin',
jerry
