Default Sometimes it's necessary to make sacrfices to the gods of fishing....

What a beautiful weekend it was. Since it was such a nice weekend I thought that I would try my luck at Pine Lake in Apex. On Saturday I was skunked by the fish. Mostly I think because I got out there a bit late and wasn't really able to take advantage of the high midday sun warming the water. Today on the other hand I made a point of getting out earlier in the day, around noon or so. I wanted to give the sun the opportunity to get high in the sky and possibly get the bait fish moving in the shallower water. So bringing me to the point of this thread.... Between the 2 days of fishing at Pine Lake I ended up losing 3 brand spanking new lures. Count them....2 rattle traps, and an in-line spinner. Fortunately I was able to land one nice bass, roughly 3 1/2 pounds or so. Unfortunately I ended up losing that rattle trap within the next 5 minutes. The upside....a.) I caught a nice fish, and b.) I learned that Pine Lake appears to have quite a bit of structure. The down side.....I lost about $10 worth of lure to catch one fish.

SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO MAKE SACRIFICES TO THE GODS OF FISHING JUST TO CATCH A FISH OR TWO.
