Default Stocking smallmouth bass?

There is a creek I fish that is stocked by the NCWRC with trout from Mar-May. So it's basically open to trout fishing for just two months (Apr-May) and almost all the trout are caught out by June.

It's not a large creek but has some nice holes. A waterfall on the lower end of the creek prevents fish from getting up into it and repopulating it. It empties into the French Broad River.

When I fish the creek in the summer and fall I rarely catch any 'game fish' out of there. The trout are long since gone save maybe one or two.

So I was thinking would it be a good idea to ask the NCWRC to stock (or restock) the creek with smallmouth bass or would that ruin the trout fishing?
