Driving on the beach around Pine Knoll Shores?

Hey guys,

I 've got a question, I was out fishing on the beach right in front of a public beach access (one of the ones with parking and picnic tables and such) this past saturday. I think I was in Pine Knoll Shores. While I was out there I saw several trucks and jeeps driving along the beach. I saw them entering a way's down but have no idea where that entrance is. Is anyone allowed to drive on the beach down there? This would be great because i could drive on down and park and fish out of the bed of my truck just like i used to do back home. If so, could someone let me know where the vehicle access point is?
