Question about Pier Fishing

My wife is wanting to go to the beach. She has said that I'm allowed to go fishing while we are there (A BIG TIME FIRST). Are there any peirs out there in North or South Carolina (prefer NC or as far down as Myrtle) that will allow you to rent a rod and reel? I don't want to buy anything yet. Just want to experience it first. Thanks as this will determine where I go to the beach.
