Haw River?

I'm brand new to fresh water fishing and relatively new to the area. I live in Pittsboro and the Haw River is close by. Is there any good fishing there?

As far as river fishing goes, what do you use for bait? Any sinkers on the line?

I've been a salt water man my whole life, any help would be appreciated.
