took the kid to smallmouth fish the little tn. near the needmore gamelands. the sun was to say the least , relentlessly beating down on us. we skipped most of the shoals and hit the deeper holes, but nothing was cooperating. fished the shade and blow downs too. we finally come to the conclusion that tennessee is cherokee for "void of fish" tried everything from clousers to big creek nymphs and even my rubber legged crawfish immitation which in the past have been the demise of many smallie. I think this time they were laughing at us.
