Default Trying to find best time to fish for White Bass and Stripers on the Yadkin on Hwy.801

Hi,

My name is Scott. I am fairly new to the river fishing thing, I am used to fishing lakes and ponds. Last year a friend of mine took me fishing at the Yadkin off of Hwy. 801 near Fulton Creek, and I got hooked instantly. We have caught good size fish so far, a bunch of redeye bass and catfish, the largest being a 16 lb. flathead, and a handful of small white bass.

I am wanting to try to hit the Striper and White Bass run this year since I missed it last year. When is the best time to do this? I am probably going to return to the Hwy. 801 part of the river below Idols, or somewhere in Elkin. So if anyone has some ideas and/or pointers I would greatly appreciate it.

Happy Fishing
