Default smallie / trout gear

We needed a post here, so here goes.
Have you ever noticed when your trout fishing, mostly in ankle to knee deep water, you are decked out in waders and a Full vest and probably a net.
On the other hand when fishing for small mouth in knee to chest deep water it's usually shorts a wading staff and a pocket full of whatever works. I have also learned the benefits of a wide brimed hat. Polarized glasses are a must in either case.
I do fish off of my Tarpon 120 when chasing small mouth but it is mostly used for portage across deep holes and across long stretches.
