Default Anyone having trouble with turtles?

We've been fishing for catfish with cut or live bream in Lake Norman... And we've caught 3 turtles so far this year. All red eared or yellow eared sliders. Never caught a turtle before this year.

They're a real bear to unhook. And I don't want to hurt a turtle.

Any suggestions to keep them off the hook?
