Default Bass fishing shallow ponds or water

I know the bass go deep in the hot weather but what are their choices in a shallow body of water, say, 6 to 12 feet deep. Would they seek out the deepest part of the pond even though it couldn't be much cooler than the 2 or 3 foot depths.

The pond I fish mostly is 6 to 12 feet with average cover including brush and docks. There are a couple of underwater channels where the deeper water is around 10 to 12 feet. Will the fish seek out the channels or the boat docks?

What say ye? How would some of you gents fish this pond, bait, speed?

Thanks...Jim
