Busy weekend on the river

This`ll definitely be one for the general section. A hodgepodge post.
Friday there was a fish kill reported on the top of Lake Wylie at Mt. Holly. Wasn`t covered much on the news. As soon as it was reported they opened all four gates on the dam from Mt. Island. There are chemical plants on each side of the river there and a wastewater treatment plant. (poo poo plant) Hard to say who was responsible for that. Whatever it was , it`s probably flushed down near the beach now.

There was a tragic boating accident early friday evening on MT. Island. 62 yr old man in a jon boat (think it was a tiller) got off the throttle and turned suddenly and was in the water. Boat sunk. Witness tried to get to him but he went under. Took til Sun. afternoon to recover him. Every emergency team for 4 counties was in on that one.

Personally I had a 4 outing kayak weekend. Gotta make sure the "twin outboards" are in tune for the tournament coming up. 3 of us from Team Hardcore were on the news for a few seconds sat. on our way in. Sat night we fished right at the dive buoys where they were searching. Little eerie knowing somebody was down there.

Saw a ton of new trash on the river from all the fairweather bank people. Horrible! Diapers, and everthing you can imagine! How can we get these people to stop?
