Default Hybrid stripers

So I was thinking, why aren't hybrids more popular? They are the fastest growing bass, they get larger than largemouth, fight much harder than largemouths and are very aggressive and not to mention a food fish. So why aren't these fish more popular? My guess would be business, so many lure manufacturers ect thrive on the largemouth fishery, so catching huge hybrids on chicken livers and cut bait doesn't benefit them any. Have any of you caught them, and if so got any stories? I know they don't mind hot water, the largest and best hybrids seem to come out of AR and AL.
