Default Question about Boat Taxes

I purchased my boat around the first of March of this year and I turned in all the paperwork for registration for the trailer and registration for the vessel. I never received anything from the wildlife or the state about paying taxes on the boat. I am not for sure if I am entitled to pay taxes on the boat, but I was just thinking that with the government taxing all other vehicles that I should have to pay taxes for my boat. I recall reading somewhere about someone who did not pay the taxes on their boat when they purchased it and ending up paying hundreds of dollars in back taxes. Just don't want that happening to me.
