Speckled Trout habitat

Hey guys, new to the saltwater game so I figured I'd ask you some questions about habitat for Speckled trout i.e. prefered water temp, structure, time of the year they spawn, main food source. Are they a fish that cruise or ambush? Virtually know nothing about them other than what I've been able to study however, doesn't seem like there's a whole lot of good information out there.
