Default Good News / Bad News

Well, after a number of years of waiting it appears that the new boat docks are steadily heading towards reality at the State Park ramps at Falls Lake. I spoke with our superintendent yesterday and he told me that they are making headway on getting the new docks in place at Rolling View within the next few months (The old docks have been removed) with the Holly Point docks being close behind. Now all we need is some rain and we should be good to go.

The bad news for many of you who may launch boats at Rolling View is that we have now installed 4 speed humps in the park: 2 along the main road heading to the boat ramp, 1 on Falls Lake Rd. heading towards the marina and 1 as you enter the swim beach parking lot. This is in an effort to curb the continuing problem of speeding in the park. We have tried issuing warnings, citations and using radar trailers -- nothing seems to work so we have had to resort to speed humps.

Those of you who may launch at the Marina know we have had speed bumps for a while. Those have been removed and speed humps have been put in instead. As long as you take it slow there should not be any problem with your boat or trailer.

I'll have further updates on the docks as the develop.
