Default Alaska Anyone???

Not sure if this is the spot of this post - if not mods please move.

I just received confirmation for a B&B cabin in the heart of some of the best "do it yourself" salmon fishing area in Alaska for 9-16 Aug 08. Some of you may recall that Phg (Paul) Greyhound (Joe) and I did the same trip in 2006.
Here are the links to day by day blogs on "Paul, Joe & Al's Alaskan Adventure" - They contain some photos and comments from others about our trip to refresh your memory.

This time I have reserved the big cabin which will hold 6. Six would be a might close but this set up would be ideal for 4. (I have stayed in this cabin before - it is first rate) Nancy at Sunshine Cabins has gone high tech and now has a webpage http://www.sunshinelakebandb.com/ The cabin shown on her page is the one I have reserved.

Here is the deal - I am going up to visit my daughter a few days prior to Aug 9th. I will meet three guys (or gals) on the 9th and off we go for 7 days of fishing. All expenses for cabin, rental car, food shared equally. Last time it cost us each about $1500 and that included airfare and licenses. Not sure we can do it that cheaply again but we can hope. My guess is probably more like $2000, maybe a bit more or less.

Hows the fishing? Ask Paul. As many of you know, timing is everything when you're salmon fishing. I have done this same trip 6 times so far and think I know pretty close to the correct time and how to do it. If we hit it right we can each expect between 40-50 hookups per day with about 1/3 landed.

I know August 2008 seems like a long ways off, but it is not when you have to plan one of these trips. I need to send Nancy a deposit prior to year end. If you are interested, contact me at aakitt@earthlink.net and I'll try to answer any questions.
