Family vacation spot ideas - spring break

Looking for a family-friendly spot, not too pricey, preferably with some sun and sand for a spring break trip in April. MUST avoid the MTV beach party scene. Anybody have a recommendation?

I figure most of the Florida east coast is to be avoided this time of year, along with cancun and possibly the cheap bahamas trips - maybe somebody knows some family friendly spots among those. Looked at southern GA coast - easy drive (saves $$$), but doesn't look warm enough for my posse (looks great for fishing tho!).

Love to hear some recommendations from folks who've been there, done that...
