Default leader for blues on topwater?

i caught several big blues a couple of weeks ago on topwater plugs (super spook, chug-bug). used a 50lb flourocarbon leader, so probably just got lucky that one of the choppers didn't cut me off. do others use steel leaders with topwater plugs when targeting blues? thanks for any rigging tips -- seems like i have seen some notes and photos specially on using steel leaders with topwater plugs for blues, but can't come up with the reference.

thanks - joel
