Default Rod repair

Can anyone shed some light on what it takes to replace the eyelets on a spinning rod. I have seen the little kits they sell to replace them but I have never given it a shot. I was wondering if anybody would be able to tell me if i should try to fix it or get a professional to do it. And if I do it what kind of equipment might I need to fix it. It's a six foot ugly stik medium action 100% graphite. and the rod is still in great shape. Any info would be greatly appreciated
